Attention (Heatmap)

What it does

This KPI visualizes where viewers are most likely to look on an image using a 'heatmap.' Red areas show high attention, while blue areas indicate low attention. The 'fogmap' highlights only the areas with the highest attention.

 

 

Why it matters

The heatmap identifies which parts of a design grab the most attention, helping ensure key elements are noticed and engaging. It's essential for optimizing asset designs, website layouts, or any visual media where viewer engagement is critical.

 

How it works

Uses predictive models to predict how much attention each part of an image will get, creating a clear, color-coded attention map. Pixels predicted to receive more attention are shown darker in the heatmap, providing a clear, color-coded visualization of viewer attention.

 

How to achieve great results

  • Adjust the contrast and color of key elements to make them stand out.

  • Reconfigure the layout to ensure that important areas are prominently displayed.

  • Reduce clutter around key elements to focus the viewer's attention.

  • Use spatial positioning to guide the viewer's attention through the image.

 

AI models used

Heatmaps are based on predictive eye-tracking models trained with 10m+ human fixation data. These models have been independently validated by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to be 98.6% accurate compared against human ground truth data.
